Avid just released their Avid Studio software for the iPad. The software will enable users to arrange and fine-tune clips with frame-by-frame edits. It offers access to any videos, photos and audio already in the iPad library, or media that can be imported from iTunes or cameras.
Finished projects can be exported to Facebook, YouTube or the device's camera rool. Avid Studio is immediately available at the Apple App Store for $ 4.99. Make sure using an iPad 2, since there is alot of negative buzz from iPad 1 users.
Avid's new Media Composer Version is getting us really excited, here some hints why: 64 bit architecture, DNxHD 4444, ProRes support (Mac Version only), open to third party hardware (Blackmagic, Matrox, AJA, MOTU, BlueFish).

A few days ago we took Media Composer 5.00 and 5.01 for a test drive to see if we should upgrade our current 4.05 version. The results did not make us happy. The main problem was our video and audio were not in synch. Trying to fix it under the Video Display settings corrected the sync problem, but after that there was no preview via Firewire possible. We were really sad about that as MC 5 brings a lot of amazing new features like the new audio tools and realtime audio effects.
