In the end of February we hosted Cicek Tahaoglu (Bianet), Zeynep Kandur (AKP) and Canan Arin (Turkish Women's Rights lawyer) in our sound booth for interview recordings with The Inquiry for the BBC World Service.
Obaida Hitto, a Texan who spent five months assisting the Free Syrian Army, visited us for an interview recording
with NPR's All Things Considered.
Mr. Hitto documented the violence in the eastern Syrian city
through videos he posted on the Internet, until he was injured in a
mortar attack by Bashar Assad's forces at the end of September. He is
now recovering in Istanbul.
Ghaith Abdel-Ahad visited us in our studio for an interview recording with the Fresh Air Show. Mr. Abdul-Ahad is an Iraqi journalist who began working after the U.S. invasion and has written for The Guardian and Washington Post.
In 2007 he received the James Cameron Memorial Trust Award and was British International Journalist of the Year in 2008.
Ludger Vollmer, who was born on June 29th 1961 in Berlin, is a german componist, musician and teacher. His opera "Gegen die Wand" (Against the Wall), based on Fatih Akin's same named movie was invited to Istanbul's 1st Opera Festival this year.
We did not have the chance to meet Mr. Vollmer in person, but he was happy to do a small interview via Email with us.
Studio Istanbul is a post production company based in Istanbul, Turkey. We love our business, but we also love to watch a good movie at home with the family. Our passions are art and film, pleasant sounds, nice venues and delicious meals - things that make us feel excited. We want to tell you about them, so it drove us to create this blog - to report and share the tiny but still important things in life.
