Erkin Koray

Erkin Koray, in the Turkish rock music scene since the late 1950s, is widely acclaimed as being the first person to ever play rock and roll in Turkey. In 1957, he and his band gained fame by playing covers of Elvis Presley and Fats Domino.

He was also one of the first Turkish musicians to embrace the electric guitar and modern amplification. In the late 1990s, a flowering of interest in psychedelic music made outside of the UK and the US brought Koray to the attention of listeners in the West.

Benim Türkiye

This is the first part of a video documentary of a man who is visiting Turkey for the first time in his life to meet his wife's family and see the village and country she grow up in. It is a combination of still and motion shots. We enjoyed watching it and hope you will enjoy it too.

We edited another video for Manzara Istanbul's "Einblicke", where every month architekt Erdogan Altindis gives you another glympse into the city of Istanbul. This time he prepares a special kind of flower for Valetine's Day. The video is in German language.

Mobile Editing in Van

Last weekend we supported the BBA Team with our mobile editing services in Van. EU Commissioner Kristalina Georgieva and Turkish EU Minister Egemen Bağış were scheduled to visit the victims of last years earthquakes in 2011.

Unfortunately the visit was canceled due to bad weather conditions. According to Hürriyet Daily News the European Union wishes to work closer with Turkey in humanitarian aid cooperations across the world.

Avid Studio for iPad

Avid just released their Avid Studio software for the iPad. The software will enable users to arrange and fine-tune clips with frame-by-frame edits. It offers access to any videos, photos and audio already in the iPad library, or media that can be imported from iTunes or cameras.

Finished projects can be exported to Facebook, YouTube or the device's camera rool. Avid Studio is immediately available at the Apple App Store for $ 4.99. Make sure using an iPad 2, since there is alot of negative buzz from iPad 1 users.

Tom Vek

Tom Vek is a young british self taught musician, who combines electronic music with indie rock. His debut album, "We Have Sound", was released in the U.K. in spring 2005, after Tom Vek took his tome to work on his second album "Leizure Seizure", which was released in June 2011.

Tom Vek will be live on stage in Istanbul on January 21th 11:30 pm at Ghetto. You can get tickets at biletix from 25 - 40 TL.

Volkan Konak

Volkan Konak is a Turkish folk singer. Konak is known for his friendly, caring attitude at concerts, which is a mixture of highly emotional, sad songs and his amusing anecdotes from his life experience.

Confident Women

Economy growth is changing the role of women in Turkey. More and more women start to go their own way. This is a portrait of four Turkish women, who are working in male dominated areas:

Hafize Tahal, the only female fisher on Galata bridge , Ayse Zamanpur, a Turkish business woman, Emel Topcu and Safak Pavey - two politicians.

Assyrian Christians in Turkey

There are around 9000 Assyrian-Christians living in Turkey. Many of them worked in Europe and came back to their hometown Midyat in southeastern Turkey. They rebuild the old houses and teach their children their old language aramaic. A glimpse into the live of a small minority.
